CANADIAN ROLLER COASTERS
by Name

Presented in this section of the CEC site is a chart of roller coasters in Canada that operated in the past. They no longer run at the given parks, or in most cases don't even exist anymore. All are in strict alphabetical order by coaster name.

NOTES:

COASTER NAME

The Coaster Name column shows the last official designation each defunct ride used. Other names employed are shown in brackets. These may have been ones the park used at differing times or additionally, common monikers the public gave to describe a favourite ride. Some names may be shown in more than one place if they were equally, or almost equally popular.

LOCATION

Each coaster name is followed by a Location which lists the park, fairground or community where the ride was operated. In the case where a location may have gone under one or more other names, the most common, or best-known name is given. Additional information gives a preceding or succeeding location, if the ride was moved.

Note that not all moved from/to locations are necessarily shown. A previous location name will typically be the one just before the given park, while a succeeding name will typically be to a park outside of Canada, or at least the last known location of the ride.

UNKNOWNS

Unknown ride names or locations are shown last, although some items there may be duplicated in the main listings.

QUESTIONABLES

A `?' after a coaster name indicates it may or may not have been an alternate name for a documented coaster in the given park. A `?' after a location name means that it's in contention as to whether the coaster was even ever there. Until more information surfaces, these questionable names and locations will be listed as shown.

TYPE

The Type gives the basic "wood" or "steel". Additional designations are explained by the Legend at the start of the chart. Realise that although some wooden coasters had steel structures, they are classed as "woodies" because the track is flat steel supported by laminated wood.

YEARS of OPERATION

Years of Operation may include some that the ride did not operate but remained standing idle. The first year-number may be the year of manufacture or first year of operation at the given location. Double years separated by a slash indicate the year of manufacture and first year of operation at that location.
