CEC Website
Search Services

Locate Topics, Subjects, or
Individual Words or Phrases
Anywhere at this Website.

In particular, the site-specific search method
employed here is extremely thorough and
precise compared to those used at other
websites. One can use multiple words,
(with or without quotation marks),
Boolean operators or wildcards.

   Search Engine

  (Skip Instructions)

A `Search' window exclusive to the CEC website will be presented
after the examples. Enter search terms of one or more words, or of
phrases. If using a phrase, place it within double quotes. If only
individual terms are used, leave them unquoted. Searches are not
case sensitive, so capital letters will be treated as lower case.
Boolean operators and wildcard characters may also be used.

Be aware that complete words should be entered. Partial words
such as `caro' instead of `carousel' may return the result message:
       "...did not match any documents".

Examples

  • If you wish to search
    for the word "carousel":
    carousel

  • If you want both "carousel"
    and "horse", but as separate
    or as consecutive words:
    +carousel +horse

  • If you wish to search for
    "carousel horse" as a phrase:
    "carousel horse"
  • If you wish to locate any
    instances of either the
    words "carousel" or "horse":
    carousel OR horse

  • If you want to find pages
    that contain the word
    "carousel" but not "horse":
    carousel -horse

Links will then be presented for only the CEC webpages
containing the term(s) you entered. Once you go to any CEC
page, use your browser's Intra-Page Search function, to
further narrow the field to locate what you desire.

For more detail on Search methods, read Search Basics,

  Intra-Page
   Search

Upon arriving on a given link's page, use your browser's built-
in "Search" function to quickly jump to where you want within that
page. This is a recommended method because it eliminates the
always dreaded `scroll & scan' procedure needed to locate
the text you desire that is somewhere in the current document.

Depending on the browser, its own Search function is
typically invoked by pressing one of the following.
(Be Cautious: Keys other than the one used by your
browser to search, will produce non-search results.)

A box or field appears and you may enter the word or
terms for which you wish to search. If none of these key
commands work, consult your browser's "Help" guide.

  CEC Website Layout Maps

Graphic and Text Maps here will show
the structure layout of, and relationship
among, various webpages at the CEC site.

Website layouts visually show the directories at the CEC website. A Large Graphic Layout (1024-pixel) is for larger monitors, while there is a Small Graphic Layout (640-pixel) for mobile devices. The Text Layout is suitable for those using text browsers or translation software as employed by the handicapped.

Note that not every actual subdirectory is shown because it would make the layouts too crowded. However, once in a parent directory that contains subdirectories not shown on the maps, the rest of what lies therein will become evident by that webpage's Table of Contents. Two examples which have many directories under them are Books and Videos. Both have extensive subdirectories, but logically, they are only related to the subject of the given parent directory and need not be displayed here.
