Lorne Park
(1880's ? - Turn of the 20th Century - 1946?)

Not much has surfaced on Lorne yet, but it started as a pleasure grounds on Lake Ontario west of Mississauga proper. Access was via Lakeshore Road or by boat from Toronto. Covering approximately 18 hectares, the park had picnic facilities, bowling, and a carousel. Swimming may have been offered as one source mentions separate male and female "parlours".

Lorne Park didn't fair all that well and it changed owners several times, where upon in the 1940s, it began to be sold to those wishing to put up summer homes or cotages. Today, it is largely residential, but some of it is a public day-use park.
